Amie here. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. That’s less than a week away. Do you know who’s on your ballot this year?
(If you answered “yes,” forward this to someone who’s been asking. If “no,” keep reading!)
At Iowa Starting Line, our big thing is making sure everyone has the information they need to vote. So today, we’re breaking down the big races on your ballot, the candidates competing for your vote, and what you should know before heading to the polls.
And there’s plenty happening in these final days before the election.
Republican US Rep. Ashley Hinson and Democratic state Rep. Josh Turek clashed over Hinson’s family’s private stock, worth $1 million to $5 million, and Turek’s attendance in the Iowa House, where he missed 261 of 445 floor votes this year. The race for retiring Sen. Joni Ernst’s seat is a toss-up.
Meanwhile, small business owners in Waterloo told us they’re struggling. We asked whether they’d received help from Iowa’s US senators or Hinson, who’s now running for Senate. Hear what they had to say.
Now, without further ado, let’s get into the big races on Iowa’s ballot this November.
