US Rep. Randy Feenstra, a Republican from Hull, is being challenged in 2024 by Ryan Melton, a Democrat and insurance professional from Nevada (Iowa), in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District.
If you live in Western and Northern Iowa’s 4th District, you can vote in this election. Find your congressional district here.
Melton ran unopposed in the Democratic primary election in June.
Melton says on his website that his top issues are addressing tax loopholes that “have allowed the wealthiest Americans to accrue wealth at rates much faster than the rest of us, while paying a disproportionately low tax rate,” in order to “provide for the needs of the people in the 4th district in a sustainable way.” He also wants to strengthen the Affordable Care Act to bring down prescription drug prices, and advocates for Medicare for All, wants to continue the Child Tax Credit, invest in public schools, adequately fund mental health and addiction care, fight for a higher federal “living wage,” and more.
