Sand at the Iowa State Fair: “You don’t check party ID on the way in the door.”

Rob Sand closed his State Fair speech with an image from home: his grandpa solving problems over coffee at the local diner, no party ID required.

“You just listen to each other and you give and you take,” Sand said. “That’s how we build an Iowa that is not redder or bluer, but better and truer.”
