Rob Sand says he registered to vote as an independent because he doesn’t like Iowa’s closed-primary system.
“You’re told that you’ve got to join a private club before you can participate,” he said. “Says who?”
But he explained why he ultimately registered as a Democrat: his faith, clean water, public land access, and a memory of Bill Clinton paying down the national debt.
