US Rep. Ashley Hinson, a Republican from Marion, is being challenged in 2024 by Sarah Corkery, a Democrat and community activist from Cedar Falls, in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District.

If you live in Eastern Iowa’s 2nd District, you can vote in this election. Find your congressional district here.

Corkery ran unopposed in the Democratic primary election in June.

Corkery says on her website that her top issues are making health care more affordable and equitable, and said she will “always protect reproductive freedom.” She also said she wants to invest in public education and public safety, and prioritize rural jobs and infrastructure, Iowa’s farm economy, “and our democratic institutions.”

Since day one, our goal here at Iowa Starting Line has always been to empower people across the state with fact-based news and information. We believe that when people are armed with knowledge about what's happening in their local, state, and federal governments—including who is working on their behalf and who is actively trying to block efforts aimed at improving the daily lives of Iowan families—they will be inspired to become civically engaged.
