He won’t be in the debate this evening, but Montana Gov. Steve Bullock is still making progress in Iowa today with the new endorsements of several notable Iowans.
The list of new endorsers include Woodbury County Supervisor Marty Pottebaum, Clinton County Auditor Eric Van Lancker, former Iowa Senate Assistant Majority Leader Staci Appel and former Warren County Democratic Party Chair Don Ruby.
Sixteen Democratic leaders from across Iowa have now endorsed Bullock.
โGovernor Steve Bullock is proof that our politics doesnโt have to be as broken as it seems,โ Pottebaum said. โHeโs governed a red state while passing major progressive victories; and heโs won elections in the same places we need to win in 2020. Steve can not only win the Iowa Caucus, he can help turn Iowa blue and elect talented Democrats up and down the ballot.โ
With the addition of Pottebaum and Van Lancker, Bullock now has the endorsements from six Iowa elected officials, which puts him pretty even with many of the top-polling candidates on that front.

โIโm so pleased to stand with these great Democratic leaders as we grow our campaign in communities from river to river,โ said Bullock. โThis election is about more than beating Donald Trump. Itโs about finally fixing our broken politics and ensuring every American gets a fair shot at success.โ
All of Bullock’s latest endorsers are from counties that voted for Barack Obama at least once before switching to Donald Trump in 2016. Those type of swing counties have been a big focus of Bullock during his recent trips to Iowa.
Bullock has already picked up a number of key Iowa endorsements, including Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller and State Rep. Bruce Bearinger.

Van Lancker said heโs endorsing Bullock because he brought Democrats and Republicans together in a state as red as Montana.
โIf Democrats are going to win back the White House and other places weโve lost, there is no candidate better than Montana Gov. Steve Bullock,โ Van Lancker said.ย
Bullock said he is pleased to stand with the Iowa Democratic leaders as his campaign grows in Iowa.
