US Sen. Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, questioned Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on the possibility of using vaccines against the emerging screwworm threat.
Rollins responded by letting the senator know that screwworms are in fact a flesh-eating pest, not a virus or a disease, and therefore cannot be eliminated through vaccination.
