Fresh off her viral moment where she inadvertently revealed that Republican’s real goal with their impeachment testimony was damaging Joe Biden politically, Sen. Joni Ernst is now fundraising off of it.
Her newest fundraising email calls on the conservatives in Iowa to donate to her to prove Biden wrong after comments he made about her on the trail.
โYou Iowa caucus-goers have a chance for a twofer here,โ Biden said at an event in Muscatine today. โYou can ruin Donald Trumpโs night by caucusing for me, and you can ruin Joni Ernstโs night as well.โ

He also tweeted:
Iowa caucus-goers take note. Joni Ernst just spilled the beans. She and Donald Trump are scared to death Iโll be the nominee. On Feb. 3rd, letโs make their day. https://t.co/FKrqfxDW9L

On Monday, Ernst mentioned the upcoming caucuses and questioned whether Iowans would support the former vice president after the day’s developments.
โIโm really interested to see how this discussion today informs and influences the Iowa Caucus voters,โ Ernst said. โThose Democratic caucus-goers. Will they be supporting Vice President Biden at this point? Not so certain about that.โ

Her comment referred to the testimony in the Senate, where the White House defense team spent hours painting Biden as corrupt for pursuing the removal of a Ukrainian prosecutor, an action supported and encouraged by the international community.
Ernstโs fundraising email reiterated and supported that line of argument.
The subject of Ernstโs email says: โSorry Joe, Iโm not scared.โ Following that is a call to action for Iowa conservatives.
โWe need every single conservative to take action today to show Joe Biden that Iowans are in this fight with President Trump and myself to secure the White House and protect the Senate Majority,โ the email reads. โItโs time for Joe Biden to face the truth and realize Iowans want FOUR MORE YEARS of President Trump and a Republican Senate Majority.โ (emphasis theirs)

The email then promises a 4:1 match on all donations through 11:59 tonight.
Since the trial began, Ernst has downplayed the impeachment effort against Donald Trump. When asked directly by a reporter whether the Senate should allow witnesses, Ernst dodged.
โWe have yet another day, maybe, of discussion coming from the White House counsel,โ Ernst replied yesterday. โWe have our own questions that weโll ask. And then we will make that decision.โ
