Iowans are eager to receive the latest round of COVID relief stimulus checks following the passage of the American Rescue Plan Act by congressional Democrats and President Joe Biden. Fortunately for them, disbursement of those payments have come very quickly, some landing in people’s bank accounts the day after Biden signed the bill into law.
Most Americans will be getting $1,400 per individual adult, and an additional $1,400 for each child dependent. Single people with incomes of up to $75,000 and couples making up to $150,000 will see the full payments.
But what if you haven’t gotten yours yet while your friends have been posting about receiving theirs? The IRS has a very simple “Get My Payment” tool on their website that you can use to see when your stimulus check or deposit will arrive (remember: direct bank deposits are sent to people who used direct deposit for their recent tax returns).
You have to enter in your social security number (it’s a secure, government website), date of birth and street address. The IRS website then shows you the date that your stimulus will be disbursed.
For the writer of this article, his stimulus money is arriving on March 17. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
