“I am a member of United Women in Faith through the UMC. We are a worldwide organization of 500,000 women. This is an area that we have tried to educate others in Iowa and nationwide.
School resource personnel have potential to help students! Too bad that doesn’t happen. I have been aware of that for some time! I support NAACP, our local programs for Black youth, and have presented in many areas of Iowa! Small towns are as scary as hell. The groups immediately deny any kind of racism could possibly exist in their town. And yet it is rampant in Iowa for many reasons, with Iowa having very negative statistics. I would love to follow you and learn more!!” — Deb S.

“Could you please do a story on Iowa Amendment 1, which is on the ballot this November? It will be a disaster for our state if it passes as it will essentially prevent us from course correcting on tax policy in response to situations such as our current $1 billion deficit, but no one is talking about this amendment.
Voters in Missouri and Kansas just showed that people will strike down bad measures when they know what’s at stake. We can do the same here, but only if people are educated about the real consequences of this amendment.” — Stacy L.
Flock cameras:
“404 Media wrote about controversial Flock policy in Wapello County. Sheriff signed up in Nov. 2024, had no standard operating procedures until a year later and it tells deputies to not disclose ALPR use in their reports. Sheriff also admitted audits aren’t documented.
The cameras were never approved or discussed publicly at county board meetings. All 4 cameras were vandalized recently and it has been kept quiet. Some county board members didn’t even know the county was paying for them. And most citizens don’t know they exist.” — theprivacyparrot
