Iowa gubernatorial candidate Rob Sand says he supports families having choices in education, but argues the state’s current private school voucher law lacks the oversight needed to ensure transparency.
Sand said Iowa must meaningfully fund public schools while rewriting the voucher program to prevent waste, fraud and abuse.
His office recently released an analysis criticizing the state’s Education Savings Account program, which has provided public funding for private school tuition since 2023.
