Iowa Democrats will get their chance to see a few of their party’s presidential hopefuls in the upcoming months. Senator Bernie Sanders and former Governor Martin O’Malley both return to the Hawkeye state to meet potential caucus-goers.
Sanders plans a three-day trip in February, hitting a number of towns in Eastern and Central Iowa. From Thursday, February 19th through Saturday the 21st, Sanders speaks to a number of Democratic and progressive organizations:
Thursday, February 19th: Iowa City – University of Iowa town hall meeting, hosted by U.S. Student Association
Friday, February 20th: Des Moines – Drake University town hall meeting
Johnston – Iowa Citizen Action Network keynote speech
Saturday, February 21st: Cedar Rapids – Linn Pheonix Club meeting
Tipton – Cedar County Democrats meeting
Ames – Story County Democrats Soup Supper
O’Malley announced two Iowa trips recently. O’Malley will join the Scott County Democrat’s fundraiser on March 20th in Davenport. He’ll be at another one for the Polk County Democrats in Des Moines on April 10th. He almost certainly won’t be flying in each time just for the one event. Expect extra stops to be built out on these two swings. The more the better – Iowa Democrats are eager to see their caucus contenders.
