Representatives Abby Finkenauer (IA-01) and Cindy Axne (IA-03) will be receiving some praise in their districts as part of a $2 million national campaign from Protect Out Care, targeted toward constituents interested in health care with social media, connected devices and pre-rolls ads.
The digital ad campaign will be highlighting Finkenauer, Axne and eight other newly-elected members of Congress who are leading the fight on pre-existing conditions, opposing the Trump-Texas lawsuit, and working on lowering prescription drug costs.
The campaign is called the House Education and Leadership Project (HELP), and will be kicking off just days after House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy vowed to further tear down health care coverage if Republicans take back control of the House.
“While President Trump and Congressional Republicans try to rip apart our health care laws and wreak havoc on Americans’ health care, House Democrats have worked nonstop to strengthen protections for people with pre-existing conditions, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and defend against the Trump administration’s reckless Texas lawsuit,” said Protect Our Care chair Leslie Dach. “The House Education and Leadership Project not only highlights the work House Democrats are doing to lower the cost of health care, but also makes a clear contrast between the Republican agenda to raise costs and take away health coverage and Democrats’ commitment to protecting Americans health care.”

A Look at The Ads
There are three distinct ads that will be a part of the campaign, for each candidate, one of which is 30 seconds – the other two are 15 seconds.
The 30-second ads are titled Protecting Our Health Care, and their focus is to highlight that people with pre-existing conditions are fighting for their life, and “they shouldn’t have to fight their insurance company too.”
The scripts for the ads are exactly the same across the board, just swapping out the names of the members of Congress. Take a look below.
The other two ads are just 15 seconds long, and basically break down the 30-second ad into two parts.

The first of them is called Protecting People With Pre-Existing Conditions, which highlights votes on H.R. 986 – the Protecting Americans with Preexisting Conditions Act; here’s a look below.
The last ad in this set is called Standing Up To Insurance Companies. It doesn’t highlight any vote or action in particular like the last ad. Here’s a look:
Protect Our Care also plans to expand the campaign to more members and districts in the future.
