IA Democrats removed from public event for Republican Congressional candidates

Democrats in Iowa were asked to leave a public event for Republican congressional candidates Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Henry County.

“We registered over a week ago, received tickets, attended respectfully, and entered what was presented as a public event for Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

“At no point during registration were attendees asked for political party affiliation. No one at the door asked attendees their party affiliation either. In fact, registered Democrats and non-Republicans were allowed to remain at the event.

“Yet about 15 minutes after entering, several of us who are publicly known to hold differing political views were specifically approached and asked to leave,” one individual told the Henry County Democrats.
