During a visit to Iowa, Trump said farmers' woes were the result of Biden-era policy and foreign countries. The New York Times reports the president's 2025 tariff sweep made costs for equipment soar and prices for crops drop.
"It's a dire time for American farmers, particularly the Midwest soybean and corn farmers," said Kirk Leeds, chief executive of the Iowa Soybean Association.
