The moment we’re in

The US Senate is currently deciding whether to approve new funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

More than 500 organizations nationwide have come together to urge Congress to refuse additional funding for ICE and CBP unless there is real accountability, an end to detention expansion, and meaningful limits on harmful enforcement practices.

This decision, coming on the heels of the murders of Minneapolis citizens Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, could shape how immigration enforcement operates moving forward.

Indivisible has put together a How to Rein in ICE Now resource for those interested in taking action.

Here are other ways to get involved:

Take Action: Action Tools

The organizations below are leading efforts to stop ICE funding, halt detention expansion, and demand accountability from Congress. Each link includes ways to take action, such as signing petitions, sending messages, or calling lawmakers.

Take Action: Calling Senators

If you oppose more funding for DHS, ICE, and Border Patrol, another action you can take is calling Senate offices directly and telling your lawmakers to vote no on more funding.

Indivisible has put together a script to make it easier than ever to call your senator.

What Groups Are Demanding

Across these groups, organizations are calling Congress to:

  • Refuse new funding for ICE and CBP
  • Stop the expansion of immigration detention
  • End mass enforcement and harmful arrest practices
  • Use congressional oversight and budget authority to demand accountability

Does this really work?

Yes, calls, emails, and public pressure work—especially when decisions are being made behind closed doors.

If you want to get involved, you can use the resources above to take action, share this guide with your community, and make your voice heard to your members of Congress.

Take action. Make the call. Share this resource.
