I sure hope there will be more talk about agricultural sustainability later in the Ag Sec campaign. The average rowcropped acre in Iowa is losing topsoil more than twenty times as fast as it is being replaced. Twenty times. In metaphoric terms, the iceberg is looming ahead and we’re busy arguing about how to arrange the deck chairs.
